Need free medical advice quickly!

Telehealth Ontario is a free, confidential service that is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The good news is that it is free.

Telehealth Ontario does not make medical diagnosis or dispense medication, but they do provide guidance.

The calls are handled by registered nurses. For example, they will let you know whether, you could :

  • handle the problem yourself, or

  • visit a medical doctor or nurse practitioner, or

  • go to a walk in clinic, or

  • contact a community service, or

  • go to your nearest hospital emergency room.

Important number to note :

Telehealth Ontario 1 -866-797-0000

If the matter is an emergency, do not call Telehealth Ontario, but dial 911 immediately.

So what can you call Telehealth Ontario about ?

  • an illness or injury that needs medical care and won't go away or keep coming back

  • advice on nutrition and healthy living

  • teen health and living

  • depression, suicide or other mental health concerns

  • medications and drug interactions

  • breastfeeding.

The service does not replace a visit to your doctor for an actual diagnosis or prescription nor does it replace having a family doctor.
